I usually make applesauce in large batches and freeze some in 100g portions so that it is always on hand when the baking urge strikes.

Instructions
  1. Quarter the apples and core them (no need to peel).
  2. Chop the quarters into chunky pieces and place them into a large pan with around 100ml water.
  3. Cover and cook until the apples are very soft. Allow to cool for a while and blend the apples until they are completely smooth.
Recipe Notes

Applesauce will keep in the fridge for up to a week or freeze in small portions.

Makes around 400g.
